THIS BOOK IS...

THIS BOOK IS SO AMAZING!!!!

I love it! It's really sad and heartwrenching, but funny at the same time. The characters are so well written, and so is the plot.

Who else loves it?!

This was one of the books teachers used to read during down time in class, so I had the book read aloud to me. It's been a while, but I think that I did like the book. From what I remember, the book had a lot of action towards the end. What was your favorite part of the book?

Hm, I think I was assigned this book to read back in fifth grade!

Things I remember (spoilers I guess):

- Freak is smart and likes robots and I think boxes has involved.

- Max is big and lives with his mom and something awful happened when his dad went through a window? Or something? I remember being really freaked (sorry) out. I remember it vividly but vaguely.

- Freak wants robot arms but it turns out people lied to him? I think he dies at the end?

- It's Friday the thirteenth and something bad happens and Freak says, "Please, sir, more gruel"

- It's very sad at the end.

- Max becomes a better person? He gets mad at people for lying about Freak's robotic future?

- There's a trash dump somewhere in the story?

- Literally all I can remember, but I do think I really liked the book.

Hee hee! Let me correct those facts:

-Freak is an ultimate GENIUS and he likes robots and King Arthur tales.

-Max is huge, he lives with his grandparents because when he was four his dad murdered his mother by choking her. It was creepy.

-Freak finds out what his diagnosis is and pretends that they are going to bionically improve him, but he knows he's going to die.

-Nothing bad happens, it's just that Freak is obsessed with knights of the round table and just calls it gruel.

-It's very very very very very very very very sad at the end.

-Max was always a good person, but people didn't think so and now they see him in a better light. Thanks to Freak, he was able to overcome his disabilities.

-I don't remember a trash dump. I remember the Testaments, which were the "bad side" of town.
