I LOVE this series too! Though I did think Fyre was a bit anticlimactic to wrap it all up. I thought Darke set things up well for the finale, though.

And I ADORE Jenna and Marcia Overstrand. They are the funniest, cleverest female characters I've come across in a long time.

Beetle and Simon are pretty cool, too, though I wish Simon had remained...evil? That series needed a more sturdy antagonist than Merrin.

Oh, and the Genie. Was. Brilliant.

I read the first second and third books. I bought the fourth but just couldn't get through it. Merrin is kind of boring. Liked book one and see the point, but think about it: the book is called Septimus Heap and there isn't significant mention of him until more than halfway through the book. Still loved it, and surprise ending still surprised and entertained me though. I was literally wishing SPOILER ALERT Boy 412 was Septimus and then, well, what do you know, he is.Smile
