Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Please someone tell me you also love her books. I know Ivy and Indigo have read some things by her, so I'm making a page in case there are any more closet McKinley fans. Her claim to fame is that she won both a Newbery Medal and an Honor (twenty years ago) but her work is truly timeless. Her writing style tends more to the literary than the kind of conversational PJO type, but her books are always witty and have wonderful plots. Many of her novels are fairy tale retellings, so if you're into that kind of thing, totally check out Beauty, Rose Daughter, and Spindle's End. If you prefer the more typical mythical fantasy, there's The Blue Sword, The Hero and the Crown, and Pegasus (which, btw, has a hideous cliffhanger that doesn't seem about to be relieved any time soon in a foreseeable sequel.)
