Anne of Green Gables
I'm halfway through...

I'm halfway through with this book, and I love it! Anne is such a wonderful character, and a refreshing break from the ladylike girls of that time. I thought the descriptions were great, and everything well thought out. It's hilarious, and so far one of my favorite books.

OH MY GOSH I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!! EVERYBODY can tell you what a giant mega fan I am! Anne of Green Gables literally sums up probably 3/4 of my life! I've read the whole series!

Anne is hands down one of the top three characters I can best relate to! I LOVE her! Sweet, funny, endearing, creative, imaginative, smart, not afraid to defy society's expectations, goes out after her hopes and dreams and doesn't let anything keep her down! If you underestimate or judge or tease her, she'll make sure to make you eat your words. Her friendship with Diana is one of my most favorite sisterly friendships ever. They compliment each other, support each other, and each one completes the other! I also LOVE the setting of PEI! It's so sweet and beautiful! The whole story is just amazing!!! It's too perfect a book to properly describe!

Okay, to prove me dedication:

- I've read Anne of Green Gables over 40 times.

- I've read the whole series about 3 times. (Only cause I didn't get the whole series till recently. I've had the first book my whole life.)

- Anne of Green Gables is the first book I ever read.

- I'm also a die-hard fan of the movies starring Meagan Follows, which I've watched hundreds of times!

- I've actually been to Prince Edward Island just for Anne of Green Gables! I saw L.M. Montgomery's old home, the real house that Green Gables was based on. I saw L.M. Montgomery's grave and paid my respects to the person I consider to be one of the greatest authors ever to put pen to paper in the history of existance. And I went to Avonlea Village, which is a whole little town made to be just like Avonlea with people acting as the characters from the book and everything!

- I also have an Anne Shirley doll which I got from P.E.I.!

- My username on NaNo & YWP is literally Anne Shirley101.

- Anne of Green Gables is a story loved by almost all the women in my family, so it's literally in my blood.

- I always tell people "If my hair weren't blonde I pray it'd be red".

- Anne is, because of this, one of my favorite names.

- I quote this book ALL THE TIME and some of my all time most favorite quotes come out of this book.

My love and absolute obsession with this book passes all other extremes and fangirl obsessions. Yeah, it's deep.

Most of the things BHR said are true about me too, except for the visiting what Green Gables was based off of, and the nanowrimo thing. Maybe something else too, but I'm not sure. The point is that this book is awesome.

Not to offend anybody, but I found the book rather dull in the middle. Then it got really good. I do not really recommend the others in the series, because they are very dull in some parts and exciting. I liked the part when Anne accidentially gave wine to her friend. That was a bit suspenseful, as well as funny.

Yep, this is one of my favorites. I'm moving on to Anne of Avonlea.

i thought it was hilarious when she gave Diana wine, and when Gilbert called her hair carrots. I thought Gilbert Blythe was really sweet, and I'm glad Anne forgave him.

I ADORE the series. I first read AGG when I was seven, and even though I didn't know a good deal of the words, I still devoured it and plunged my way through. I swear half of my current vocabulary is from reading L. M. Montgomery. These are my favorite other books in the series, in order. AGG is not there, because I just can't rank it. It's too immortal for that!

Rilla of Ingleside. Rilla is the coolest person. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I almost like her more than Anne, mostly because she has so much more to get through in life, with the War and everything.

Anne of the Island. I like her school experiences and new friends, and I thought the whole Roy Gardner thing was kind of funny--how she found her "ideal" then realized he wasn't so great after all!

Anne of Windy Poplars. I like the episodial way the story is written, and all the differnt types of characters.

Anne's House of Dreams. I love this one mainly for Leslie. She's such a fascinating heroine.

Anne of Avonlea. No real reason, but it's really funny.

Rainbow Valley. Great new pantheon of characters.

Anne of Ingleside. Aside from Rilla, I've never liked Anne's children as much as I've liked her. Their adventures are so much less interesting.

@ BHR:

I would KILL to visit Prince Edward Island some day! My mom once promised me she'll take me there; it sounds SO FUN!

I know, I feel the same way about Rilla. And I am a born babysitter, so I was SO JEALOUS when she got Jims.

@ Everinne: It is so amazing there! I loved every minute of it! The landscape is beautiful, the people are so friendly, and everything has this sort of magical feel to it, like you just stepped out of time.
