Chatterbox: Blab About Books

A LIttle Princess
THIS WHOLE POST...

THIS WHOLE POST IS A SPOILER!

This book had SUCH an effect on me. I lived through Sara's time, through her days of richness and her days of troubles. I will NEVER be the same again, not after reading how she controlled her temper. When Miss Minchin called her names and took away her things, when she heard that her papa died, ALL SHE DID WAS STAY CALM! Imagine if you were in her place. Could you ever have done that? Iwas SO happy when she finally became a princess again, with the Indian gentlemen. I hated Miss Minchin, Lavinia and the cook. I loved Sara, Becky, Anne, the baker woman, Ermengarde, the Indian man, EVERYBODY who was nice to her I loved.

*****May contain spoilers******

I love this book! It's always been one of my favorites! I could never imagine being in Sara's position, but her attitude towards it all, thick and thin, was amazing. She's definitely a role model for me! I really admire her for caring more about others, even when she is having a difficult time. Another trait I loved was the fact that Sara made up stories to make the best of her situation and to pull herself through it. I sometimes try doing that. My favorite part of the book is probably when Ram Dass and Mr. Carisford transform Sara and Becky's attic into a beautiful place to be, and I loved Sara and Becky's reactions. This is probably my favorite classic novel ever!

Have you happened to have watched any of the movies?

Oh yes! There are a few versions out there. If I remember correctly, I think Shirley Temple even started as Sarah in one.

My dad read this to me when I was little. I used to not like the book, but now I do. It is sad how shallow the teacher is.

by the way, Hi, Admins!! I've missed you guys. High school means that I haven't had time for this lately. I'm moving really soon, and kind of finding it hard to adjust. I don't want to let go of my old city! Any advice? Thanks so much!

It's good to hear from you, Cayke! I understand your feelings about moving. Try your best to be open to new opportunities, people, activities. Remember the past, too. You can keep in touch with old friends via email or phone. I know other Chatterboxers will have good advice for you. Many people move each year. Best wishes and let us know again how you're doing.
