Chatterbox: Blab About Books

I think everyone should read this book. It was simply amazing. it was just so sad, and I couldn't stop crying while I was reading. Really. It's amazing.

It's about this girl who lives in Afghanistan, and she has cleft lip. She lives in a society where women are looked down on, and they're treated like garbage. When the Americans come, they offer her a surgery to fix her cleft lip. At the same time, she's learning to read. Also, her sister gets married and is extremely abused by her husband.

One thing, though. Just know that even though the characters were Muslim, the way Muslims are portraid is every bad, Muslims value women, and aren't allowed to abuse them. They're encouraged to get an education. Lots of Muslims nowadays have this twisted idea in their mind that had nothing to do with Islam. They simply look down on women. But real Islamic rules forbid that.

Anyway. Everyone should read it.
