It's officially comin...
It's officially coming out so soon! (And I have already seen a spoiler...oops. It's more of a shipping thing and less plot-relevant, though, so it's okay. I just have to avoid certain blogs because I'm too lazy to get Tumblr Savior, wow.)
Anyway, musings? Hopes? Dreams? I seriously doubt that Rick Riordan will have the guts to kill anyone off, but if he does, my top people I will PROTECT AT ALL COSTS are Hazel, Frank, Reyna, and Nico (mostly because killing him off after the reveal in HoH would be contributing to a really gross trope...), and then on a secondary level Jason and Piper and Annabeth, and then finally Leo and Percy because while I like them well enough, I like everyone else more.
*prepares for troop of Leo fangirls to run over me*
Caleo... Can I please hope it's going to stay a platonic thing? Or that at least they'll take time to get to know each other? And that they won't be together at the end of the book like Calypso is some prize for Leo to win? Please?
...ahem. Aside from that, I'm excited, and maybe we'll find out who Magnus Chase is!

Yeah, Nico can't die; he's been living and dying on and off way too much for it to have any emotional weight (except annoyance at Rick for a kind of cheat). If Percy or Annabeth die, that would be just TOO SAD, although it might almost be kind of interesting to see how the story would go if one dies and the other lives. Hazel, Piper and Leo I hope all survive.
I have a feeling that we won't know precisely what happens with Leo and Calypso. Like he'll go off to try to find her, but we won't know if he does, if they get married or what. Because Rick Riordan never likes to have anything too pat at the end of his books. Plus, he seems the kind of author who would purposely not give a real end just to tease his readers.
As for Jason or Frank dying, I feel Frank is much more obvious a choice, but I almost hope Jason dies because he seems too "perfect" to have any real purpose in living--and at least he might die a "hero's death." Reyna seems the kind of tragic character that would die--like Zoe Nightshade--though maybe Rick'll want to try something different. I couldn't say.
Yes, I hope we will have some clue as to Magnus Chase's strange sort-of-relation to Annabeth.

Yeah, that's kind of my main worry - because Reyna is the kind of character who is likely to be killed off for some other character's emotional motivation (*cough*Jason*cough*) and I don't want that for her. Also Frank is a precious teddy bear that must be protected at all costs, and same goes for Hazel except she could kick my butt.
I felt that way about Jason at first, but then I realized that he only seemed that way because a), at the beginning of TLH he had amnesia, and B) we didn't get to watch him progress like we did with Percy.
Now there's what I'd want - a prequel series about Jason and Reyna and their beginnings. That would be AWESOME.
Yeah, I don't like Caleo that much, but I think that's my best hope. An uncertain future, relationship exploration, and nothing set in stone - because for heaven's sake, they're all like sixteen. There is time enough for love.

I liked Jason quite a bit in TLH, actually--Piper too. It just seemed that after Hazel and Frank and Annabeth showed up, they didn't have all that much cool stuff to do. Though Piper defeating Khione was a high point in the later books.

I'm so excited for this. I don't think RR's going to kill anyone off because, well, this is a kids' series and Never Say Heroes Die and also no my babies. I, of course, want Reynabeth to happen and then the two of them show up halfway through the first Magnus Chase book and Magnus is so in awe of his awesome Greek cousin and her friend. As for predictions, I think an almost death is likely, both Hazel and Piper are going to have reckonings with their fathers, Octavian will be RR's scapegoat for Roman flaws, CHB will not be razed by a Roman drunk on Kool-aid, Frank and Annabeth and Piper and Hazel and Reyna and Nico will be the heroes of my heart and I will most not definitely squeal during Reyna's and Nico's POV's. Coach Hedge will be a cool grumpy Grandma, and someone is going to have to sacrific something- and I will cry again.
I'm definitely going to reread all the books I own before the book comes out because of the shipping spoiler and I don't really remember who the kid is.
I probably going to buy it after tennis practice on the Tuesday it's release and read it through my PSAT class and do any homework and cry because my childhood is over and the last ever season finale of the Avatar series will have just aired and everything is happening all at once.

This comment comes to you in several parts, because I am very very excited.
Part one: Denial
I totally did not just jump up and down excitedly when I saw you'd posted. Of course not. I never went by Tiffany W., never topped any threads (particularly not involving dragons or unicorns or something) to an embarassing and terrifying degree, and of course never wondered where you'd gone off to. As if. I won't cry during BoO at all. Rick Riordan will come to his senses and make Reynabeth canon.
All this is lies and slander.
Part two: PJO blogs
I make it obvious, don't I...? But it's okay, I edited out a sentence about Calypso running off with Reyna/Annabeth/Piper and Percy and Leo going on Reddit to drown their sorrows, so it could have been less obvious.
Part three: predictions
I don't really think any of the seven will die either, I just like making a big deal out of protecting Reyna/Frank/Hazel because you've gotta have your priorities straight (or, um, better yet not straight at all). If anybody's going to die, it'll be Coach Hedge, but even that Riordan will probably wiggle out of somehow. Not that I'm complaining. I want them all to be happy and alive always and forever.

Gah... My family preordered BOO on Amazon, but now it turns out we'll be out of town for all of next week, and when we come back, my brother will end up wanting to read it first.

I just saw this and I want to thank you, Katia, for starting this. I had planned on it, but it probably never would have happened. So, thank you.
WARNING---- SPOILER ALERTS AND RAMBLINGS AND FANGIRLING AHEAD. READ AT YOU OWN RISK
Ahh... This book. I feel like it coming out is like the world ending- nothing after it matters. Sometimes I just feel like my entire life has led up to that day. Okay, that's over-dramatic, but I am going to go NUTS when it comes out.
As a matter of fact, me and two of my freinds are having a sleepover the day before to the day after, in honor. We did the same thing last year, minus one of the freinds. It was (and will be) chaotic with much fangirling. And my poor sibling will be tortured by our shrieks of laughter and shock and happiness throughout the night.
Anyways, I am very excited, to say the least.

Sadly, I have a hunch at least one of the seven will die. IF IT IS PERCY OR ANNABETH OR BOTH, RICK RIORDAN, WE WILL HAVE A REAL PROBLEM. I really hope my hunch is dead wrong. Like you said, SC, I just want everybody to live and be happy.
