Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Book Characters....
Have you ever...

Have you ever read a book and met a character who was EXACTLY like you- you could predict their answers, their tone, everything?

My fictional look alike is Calpurnia Tate (The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate by Jacqueline Kelly). Actually, not only do I know Callie V. backwards and forwards, its my favorite book:)

Anyways, have any of you found that perfect book, the one that you can totally relate to the main character in EVERY way?

Emily Starr from Emily of New Moon by L.M. Montgomery. She's a little sassier than I am--well, than I think I am--but her stubbornness, her love of stories and writing, her occasional broodiness and her preference to be alone are all like how I feel I am. Ilse Burnley, also from that series, is similar to me too, but she shrugs things off better, and she's a more cut and dry tomboy.

I feel like I'm a bit like Jo March from Little Women too--though she's probably more practical-minded than I am. Same with Anne Shirley, and she also is always so cheerful, which I know that I am frequently not.

Annabeth Chase - Percy Jackson and the Olympians (I don't think outwardly people would think I was much like her, though I relate to her in many ways I just don't show to people.)

Anne Shirley - Anne of Green Gables

Laura Ingles Wilder - Little House on the Prairie

Okay, this is getting HILARIOUS, because what you lot are saying about matching book characters are ones I'd never guess for you. *pauses* Except Everinne.....

The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate! I didn't think anyone else read this. Oh, that book is so good! (Though I read it in the hot summer . . . not a good idea.)

I don't know who I would say is my fictional look-a-like. I could predict a lot of things for the characters, but I don't have people who are exactly like me, or that close. Maybe Anne Shirley, though I'm not as prone to her chatter and dream. Or maybe Una Fairchild in Storybound. I'm not sure.

I'm feeling more and more like Chloe from the Candle Man recently.

I'm not like her. She's too... "dashing" to be me. Too adventurous, too good at thinking things up on the spot, just better at all of that adventure stuff. More outgoing than me. But at the same time, she's under a reasonable amount of stress which I realise I can relate to. We have a similar taste in fashion (which I suppose doesn't really count, but when you dress like me it does) down to the hat. Well, mostly the hat. She's sarcastic, which I am too. She gets frustrated. I can appreciate that, too. I don't know, though. I haven't really connected on huge levels with any particular book character that I can think of at the moment.
