Nonfiction Books
I realized that...
I realized that while Cricket does publish nonfiction stories, most people don't chat that much about nonfiction books. Does anyone have suggestions for great nonfiction?
I'm a bit of a science nerd, so I read a lot of books about that. Here are some of my favorites:
1. If the Universe Is Teeming With Aliens-- Where Is Everybody?
Fifty Solutions to the Fermi Paradox and the Problem of Extraterrestrial Life
By Stephen Webb
2. The Beak of the Finch
By Jonathan Weirner
3. Eye of the Albatross
Visions of Hope and Survival
By Carl Safina
Also, novels based on true stories, history, I read a lot of too.
Queen of Water by Laura Resau
Code Talker by Joseph Bruchac
Admin, I hope this is okay to post in Blab about Books.

I'm a historical fiction fan, too! I've read a bit of nonfiction as well. Somehow, though, I haven't read any of the books you mentioned; I'll have to keep an eye out for them. I have read a book by Laura Resau called What the Moon Saw (fiction, but a great book).
As for nonfiction, I enjoyed Bomb by Steve Sheinkin. I have a few historical fiction titles to recommend, too: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, Waiting for the Queen by Joanna Higgins, and the Betsy-Tacy books by Maud Hart Lovelace.

I've heard a lot about The Book Thief! What did you think?
Another great science book:
Poseidon's Steed by Helen Scales. It's about seahorses!

The Book Thief was great -- one of my all-time favorites! I thought that the characters were alive and relatable. The book was made into a movie, which I also enjoyed.
Poseidon's Steed sounds interesting. I'll have to keep that title in mind!

And by the way, while we're on the topic of nonfiction, does anyone else in the CB read Muse, too?
