I love Redwall! I made a page about it before, which didn't end up being so popular! The only problem I have with it is that I wish more characters stuck around from book to book. You grow to love so many of them, then you have to leave them. My favorite books are Lord Brocktree, Redwall, Mattimeo, Martin the Warrior (mostly because it seemed different), Salamandastron, and Marlfox. I'm currently on Rakkety Tam.
And I really like Septimus Heap, too. I think a lot of people might think it's just an imitation of Harry Potter, but it has so much individual wit and intrigue and humor.
Eulalia!!!!
Also--Marcia Overstrand ROCKS!

Completely agree with everything. I love the way Angie Sage introduces characters and then makes them important later in the story. For example, Lucy Gringe. She wasn't important before she started dating Simon. We knew she was there, but she wasn't important.

I love the Septimus Heap books!
I've just gotten to the last book... I think?
Anyhow, what is the redwall series about? I've heard of them but I'm not sure what they're about.

Redwall is a really good series, though quite long!
The basic storyline for each of the books is: a hero/heroine (usually an otter, squirell or mouse), who lives at Redwall Abbey (a place of plenty, peace and goodwill), is either chosen or volenteers to go forth and defeat whatever villain (usually a "vermin" band leader, like a rat, stoat, weasel, etc.) is dastardly enough to attempt to seize Redwall, take over the surrounding Mossflower Woods, or is a tyrant of a faraway island that needs liberation. After a while the continuity of the plots get dull, though the first dozen are pretty interesting and have some really great characters.
The best part of it, in my opinion, is the Long Patrol of Salamandastron--a band of warrior hares, called "perilous," who are pretty light-hearted in regular life but who are super awesome fighters. Another great thing about the series is that if you are a fan of British things, you are treated to a lot of written out dialects and funny phrases. You should definitely check out the books, Violet!
