Summer Reading
I need some...
I need some good books for summer reading. I don't want to spend hours in the library looking for books this year. I've read a lot of books this past year. Especially the popular series. I usually dom't like popular series, but whatever.

I THOROUGHLY recommend Keeper of the Lost Cities series by Shannon Messenger! They are utterly fantastic! Anyone I've ever recommended them to has loved them!
Some other suggestions:
The Girl Who Could Fly by Victoria Forester
The School for the Insanely Gifted by Dan Elish (this is ridiculously hilarious)
The School for the Good and Evil by Soman Chainani
Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson
Great Episodes is a fantastic series
Dear America (any of those are really really good)
I hope those help. They're books/series I've thoroughly enjoyed, and reread time and again.

@BHR: Oh my gosh, I love Fever!

Anyway, if you haven't read Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, all those ones (which you have probably read) read them.
But, if you already have, then...
The Theodosia series by R. L. LaFevers
The Books of Elsewhere series by Jacqueline West
The Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer
The Apothecary, and its sequel, The Apprentices, by Maile Meloy
The Kane Chronicles, by Rick Riordan
The Underland Chronicles, by Suzanne Collins
The Warriors series, by Erin Hunter (the first one; there are one or two more that I haven't read, although I'm sure that they are good too)
Midnight Magic, by Avi
The Graveyard Book, by Neil Gaiman
The Bliss Novels, by Kathryn Littlewood
Texting the Underworld, by Ellen Booraem
House of Secrets, by Chris Colombus and Ned Vizzini (I know that there is a sequel out, but I haven't read it yet)
The Little White Horse, by Elizabeth Goudge (this is an old book, but I still like it)
--------
That's all I have for now, but I'll probably be back with more. Hope these help!

@ Kaite: Oh my gosh, it's fantastic! I love it so much.
A few I forgot:
Caddie Woodlawn by Carol Ryrie Brink
The Good Master by Kate Seredy
What Katy Did by Susan Coolidge
(June 11, 2014 - 9:02 pm)
The Selection series by Kiera Cass. Highly recommend. HIGHLY.
Entwined by Heather Dixon
Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson
Dreaming Anastasia by Joy Preble. I'm reading it now. It's very good.
Roses and Bones by Francesca Lia Block. It's a collection of three of her books. The first one is confusing at first, but then you get it. It's very VERY dirty though. And it swears a lot. Still, it's very beautiful writing.
The Faeriground Cycle series by Beth Bracken and Kay Fraser. Quick reads.
(June 11, 2014 - 9:41 pm)
Have you read When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead?
(June 12, 2014 - 6:21 pm)
Yes! It is one of my favorite books!
(June 14, 2014 - 7:12 am)
Gary D. Schimdt. Please. The Wednesday Wars and Okay For Now.
They are such good books.
(June 12, 2014 - 6:31 pm)
Agreed. They are fantastic.
Read Wednesday Wars first, though.

Okay, here is the list I gave to Elizabeth for recommended reads--I don't know how many of them you've already read:
Because of Winn-Dixie/The Tale of Desperaux/The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane/Flora and Ulysses by Kate Dicamillo.
The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis
The Blue Sword/The Hero and the Crown/Pegasus/Spindle's End by Robin McKinley
The Hobbit/The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien
Anne of Green Gables and its sequels/The Emily Trilogy by L.M. Montgomery
Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
Watership Down by Richard Adams
A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
The Golden Compass by Phillip Pullman (only the first book, NOT the sequels!)
Ella Enchanted/Fairest/The Two Princesses of Bamarre by Gail Carson Levine
(June 13, 2014 - 4:19 pm)
I don't know what genres you like, or how old you are, but these are some of my favorite books. And ones that I devoured in, like, a day or two.
- The Lunar Chronicles... Marissa Meyer (The 1st book is Cinder)
- When You Reach Me... Rebecca Stead
-Fever 1793... Laurie Halse Anderson
- The Infernal Devices... Cassandra Clare (The 1st book in the trilogy is The Clockwork Angel. This trilogy is alittle more edgy than some. There are vampires and werewolves and shape-shifters. Just so ya know.)
- The Fault in Our Stars... John Green (This is a absolutley beautiful book. Highly recommend it!)
