Chatterbox: Blab About Books

The Selection by Kiera Cass
Has anyone read...

Has anyone read this book or any of the other books in this trilogy? I highly recommend it if you haven't! I started it one Saturday and finished it the following Wednesday. It was soooo hard to put down, and I had a mental breakdown when I finished it! I'm getting the last two books soon! The final one is going to be signed!

Yes! I loved The Selection! The last book, The One, came out today. I just ordered it on Amazon. Who do you want America to chose? I'm team Maxon!

I read it and I wasn't that impressed by it. America seems like a wishy-washy character. I don't know if anyone else noticed, but whenever America was alone with either Maxon or Aspen, she would almost always think, "In this moment...". That really annoyed me.

I was team Maxon, basically from the beginning. Aspen also seems wishy-washy to me. I mean, come on, Aspen! REALLY? Tell the love of your life to go to audition to go to the kingdom, but then later say you want her back... It's like he owns her!

And then that whole Maxon/Celeste ordeal!!!! To me, that was SO predictable! You knew that Maxon couldn't be cheating on America because then America would go with Aspen, which would end the book. But Maxon's excuse of needing physical attention and a break from all the stress ALMOST TOTALLY ruined his character. He should be that guy who will wait for the right girl, not go gallavanting with any old person!!!!!

Yeah, well, that's what I think of The Selection.... Sorry if you don't like my opinion.

I'm in between. I really can't decide Aspen or Maxon! I don't know! I ship them both! And that thing you said happen with Celeste and Maxon, I don't remember that! Was that in The Elite or The Selection?

It was in The Elite. Personally, I think Aspen is kind of a jerk. He told her to try out for the selection, an then he was all, "Nevermind, I want you." I could go on, but I don't want to put in to many spoilers.

Also, does The Selection remind you of Princess Academy, just a little bit? Maybe it's just me...

Oh, ok! I got The Elite and The One in the mail today with four other books! The One is signed and has extra content including a double-sided poster with the covers of The Selection and The One on it! I can't wait to read The Elite, but I need to finish All The Lovely Bad Ones by Mary Downing Hahn first, just so I can get it done with. It's a good book though!

Once you finish it can you tell me if it's worth reading?

Well, I really liked, but if you didn't like the others, I don't know. I personally thought it was better than the other two, but that could just be me.

I will always and forever see Maxon as a brown-haired person and Celeste as a blonde, even though the book says otherwise. Maxon is a brown-haired in my mind because of a Japanese game I've been playing, "Be My Princess," on my iPad, and the prince I choose is Roberto Button, and I imagine Maxon just like him, though more humanly. Celeste will always be a blonde in my mind, since blondes are always the mean brats. Sterotypical for movies, but I'm a blonde. I still think Celeste is a blonde name.
