Is anyone else here on goodreads? I think it's a great way to find books you should read

I am! I love Goodreads! I've found a lot of great books through it.

I was, but then I started to spend so much time on it that I wasn't reading as much, so I deleted my account.

I might do it... but I might get too addicted to it. I'll just stick to here and Pinterest for now.

I would create an account, but I don't like disecting books to make reviews about them. And I can do that enough on here when I want to. :)

@Ivy:
What's a favorite book you've found through GoodReads? (Just curious)
I also think it's a good reference to see if you HAVE read a book. I always seem to remembers the covers, if not the book...
@Everinne:
I see your point. I barely ever make reviews either... I don't often read most reviews either, especially since some people tear the (in my opinion) AWESOME book into bite-sized pieces that say why they didn't like it, which is terribly annoying.
The nice thing is that you can get recommendations based on books you've added to your goodreads shelves. I re-find a bunch of favorites that way...

P.S. I often DO use my Cricket namesake in bouquets! HeeHee!
P.P.S. SpamBox says 'ftog'. Frog? Fog? A frog in the fog? Hmmm....

Hmm, that's hard. Maybe Dragonswood?

@ Violet:
I know, reading reviews is always a little painful, especially if I like the book pretty well. Case in point: I read a review of Peter Pan on Goodreads and nearly everyone said they preferred the movie: the book was too violent/random/dissatisfying for them and their children. And I loved the book, since it seemed more realistic and yet whimsical. I think the movie wanted to be whimsical, but it just ended up as a kind of idealistic fairy-tale with a bit of racist, stereotypical edge (the "What makes the red man red" song seriously irritated me). I mean, the movie won't make my least favorite list, but I don't think it really did credit to the pathos of Barrie's creation: e.g. Peter's conversation with Wendy in the last chapter, which is just too heartbreaking for words but didn't make the film!!!!!

I don't really read the reviews of books I've already read and liked. What's the point? I love the reveiws because I can get a feel for the book and decide whether I want to read it. Of course there are going to be people who say bad things about it, but I try not to let others opinions change my mind about a book.
My favorite part of goodreads is the quotes, the reading challenge, and my shelves.

@ Ivy: Yeah, you're right, and I never usually do, but the Peter Pan thing came around because I was looking at the Goodreads shelf of an old, old friend of mine and Peter Pan was there. On a whim I just clicked on it and read the reviews. Bad idea. #willneverdoagain :)

I'm not on it as in a member but I have looked up books there before.

I actually do have an account of Goodreads. I just signed up a few days ago, so I'm still getting used to the whole system, but so far I like it.
