Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Heaven Is for Real by Todd Burpo
This book is...

This book is a truly heart-warming and happy novel about a boy named Colton Burpo and his visits to Heaven.

Colton Burpo is diagnosed with a ruptured appendix and is clinging to life in the hospital. While at the hospital, he reports visions of Heaven that clearly match the descriptions of Heaven from verses in the Bible. His parents are left in shock while they listen to his stories and his visions of Heaven. Colton describes seeing the gates of Heaven, seeing the beautiful Jesus and what he looked like, and of course, Heaven itself. His descriptions are vivid and make Heaven a wonderful place to be, even though we know that Heaven is more beautiful than what we imagine it to look like. His father, Todd Burpo (the author of this book) is a pastor of their church and can't believe his son's descriptions of Heaven! They match the Scripture readings perfectly and Colton's descriptions were amazing for just a four-year-old little boy. It's clear that this little boy has been to Heaven. It's all true, and you might get a little blown away by Colton's descriptions of Heaven!

This book will inspire you, and will change the way you think about Heaven and eternity. This is book is very touching story, and it may excite you about going to Heaven. This book shows that we should look forward to going to Heaven!

If you've read Heaven Is for Real be sure to comment! If not, I completely recommend it for your next book. Feel free to ask any questions about the book, too!

I loved reading this book! I know there are tons of Near Death Experience books, but I loved how this one was about a little boy. It was so inspirational. I mean, how can you doubt Heaven when you read something like this??

My mom read that book a couple years ago. I don't remember what she thought of it, though. I'm pretty sure she kind of thought it was just a bunch of propaganda, though. Her opinion of the movie...let me think. She said it was totally different from the book and very propaganda-esque.

The book is totally inspiring! Heaven sounds amazing! Have you heard of that painter girl, who painted Jesus at age eight/nine? Her story is inspiring, also, and her paintings are amazing! And they are linked, because Colton says that her painting of Jesus looks correct! It's absolutely amazing! She has a website, too.

Yes, I have read about that girl! They mentioned her in the book, and her name is Akaine. My reading teacher had a book about her life, her art, and her poetry. The book had some of her paintings and they were AMAZING!!

I have read the book, and it was really good. So did the movie come out yet, or did they already make it? I have also heard of the bgirl. I could NEVER paint like that!

I think that the movie comes out in April 2014, but I think that there is a trailer out already.

The trailer for Heaven Is for Real is out! It's been out, actually. I watched the trailer and the movie looks really good. If you search Heaven is for Real movie trailer on YouTube it should be there. I doubt I'll be able to watch, it, though, since I have younger siblings who may get a little scared.

I wouldn't think the movie would be all that good. Some things can be made into films, others can't. Here it seems too much like trying to make a million bucks off a young boy's simple story.

I've read it! It is a really inspiring book. Akaine's paintings are out of this world!!! I could look at them for hours and not be bored by them!

I feel like anm idiot saying this, but there are some parts in the adult books that go against what God says.

What does the book say about religion? Does it say that only Christians are allowed into heaven, or something else? I'm curious.
