RULE ONE: Please answer every question creatively.

ASSIGNMENT ONE:

1. What is your favorite book and why?

Here is my answer:

My favorite book is The Last Battle. It is really satisfying to know that they all died and went to the new Narnia. And they got to see Aslan, Caspian, Reepicheep, etc. The book is really well written as well. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is amazing too, but the ending is best in the last battle.

2. What is your least favorite book and why?

My least favorite book is The Horse and His Boy. That book had no relationship to the other books whatsoever, and it was really boring.

3. What does the word "Aslan" mean to you.

It means love, and lion.

4. What is your favorite character?

My favorite character is Lucy, as she is brave.

THIS IS ACTUALLY A PRE-ASSIGNMENT. iF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE BOOKS, DON'T ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS! WE WILL START ON THE MAGICIAN'S NEPHEW NEXT WEEK!

1. I think my favorite book is The Magician's Nephew. I love how it's a prequel, and also how it introduces the beginning of Narnia. I also like Jadis and the ruin of the old kingdom.

2. Least favorite is The Silver Chair, even considering Point #4. It seems a trifle redundant and not as imaginative as the other books. The Horse and His Boy also seems a little unnecessary, but I like Cor and Aravis quite a bit (and their names!)

3. Aslan means a kind of Christlike protection. Nothing can go wrong as long as Aslan's around.

4. Puddleglum. He's so depressing, he's funny. He's also different from any character I've ever run into. Reepicheep is also so fun, and valiant, even though he's a mouse.

1. What is your favorite book and why? I love The Last Battle just because we are able to see all of the characters again, and because the ending, and seeing all of the old characters! :) I don't like the book for one reason, but that doesn't outweigh the other reasons. The one reason is that Susan will not come to Narnia.

2. What is your least favorite book and why? None. I just can't make myself choose one. If anything, it would be . . . The Horse and His Boy. And I really, really like that one, so I can't really call that one my least favorite.

3. What does the word "Aslan" mean to you? Aslan, to me, means love, courage, protector, fate, and guardian.

4. What is your favorite character? Oh, hard one. I would have  to say . . . Caspian, and Lucy. Caspian is so fun, and has a boyish air about him. Lucy is young, innocent, brave, a true believer of Aslan, and an  overall wonderful child.

1. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe because-I don't know why.

2. The Horse and His Boy because I found it very boring.

4. Lucy, because I have a cat named Lucy.

When are you going to start on the weekly assignments?

So sorry I took so long. I have almost no time, but read the first five chapters of The Magician's Nephew, and choose a paragraph. Rewrite this paragraph in your own style of writing.

Mag fan, you can join! I was waiting for Ruby. Sorry.

Thank you for including me in your book club, S.E.! I'm a total Narnia hyppe! Here is my rewritten paragraph. It's from pages 70-71.

"You lie," cried the Whitch," Only royalty can be magic. No common man has ever been magic, and never will. I can tell whether or not you are telling the truth. Your Uncle is a king to people of your world. And by his magic, he has seen me in some magical way or another; for by a spell, he has sent you here, to my world, to ask me to go to him in his world. Tell me this: is that not true?"

If my spelling was bad in the above passage, it's because I was typing w/ one hand, the other hand holding the book open on my lap. :P
