I just finished
Chatterbox: Blab About Books
I just finished Seeing Redd and Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Askaban. I was reading The 39 Clues, but they are starting to get a little dull, after those two amazing books I had read before. I was wondering, what should I read?? It needs to be something that my (super fussy, over protective) mum would approve. And just so you can get feel of her style, she won't let me read the other Harry Potter books until I'm fourteen-very-close-to-fifteen, so annoying!!!!! And she won't let me read books like The Series of Unfortunate Events (I'm reading it anyway, my excuse is that I'm reading it with my older sister :D) and anything with any indinication it will have horror/deaths/romance/and other 'inapporpiate' (I don't know how to spell it and I'm too lazy to click new tab and look it up) things. Like, I read a book, and suggested it to her (I thought she would like it) but she made a big fuss about that, in one of the first few chapters, someone is murdered gruesomely. That like of stuff. So, any suggestions?
PS: I'm gonna name my very intelligent spam thingy Pammy

Anne of Green Gables is a favourite of mine :D Are you allowed to read the Percy Jackson books? They're similar to Harry Potter. The Mysterious Benedict Society, Chasing Vermeer, the City of Ember, the School Story, (and most of Andrew Clements' other books) and Inkheart are also great! The Shadow Children series is also really interesting but it has some violence and death...

Anne of Green Gables? I'm obssesed with those books! I've read all eight twice and I have two copies of each book! :D. And yeah, I'm allowed to read Percy Jackson, because I just did! That's the benifit of having three sisters and a brother who all like it, I get to read it too! The other books sound cool, thanks.

Oh, yeah, and a weird thing is, even though she wasn't all right with the other book, she some how loves Percy Jackson. Ahem.

If you liked Percy Jackson, you should really read The Heroes of Olympus (unless you haven't already). The Secret Series is also very good and appropriate. :)

Warriors has some minor death/blood/guts stuff. The Stravaganza Trilogy is really good and has only one scene with death etc. in it I think. Septimus Heap has very very very little to no violence, romance, etc. If you like Harry Potter you'd probably love Septimus Heap.

Okay...hmmm....sadly everything I can think of is in the league of Harry Potter. However, if you like Anne of Green Gables (I love it), try--
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
The Emily Trilogy by L.M. Montgomery. There's a little more romance in this than Anne, but not much.
The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo. This is a kids book, but the themes are decidedly complex, and a thorougly good read.
The Hero and the Crown by Robin McKinley. This was written in 1984, and is another kid's book, but is more gornw-up. Not much romance, but a good fantasy.
I'll think of more later, I'm getting kicked off the comp at the moment!

I have read all the Harry Potter series in less than two months (maybe 1 month). Well okay it would have been less than two months but we got them on my Mom's kindle for free (only 1 book a month for free) so sadly it took me a few months to read them all (I do own a few of the books in book form).
Here is a list of good books to read:
The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
The Trumpet of the Swan by E.B White (same person who wrote Stuart Little)
The Sign of the Beaver by Elizabeth George Speare
The Cricket in Times Square by George Selden (this is a series of 7 books)
Black Beauty by Anna Sewell
The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S Lewis (this is a series of 7 books)
Mary Poppins by P.L Travers (this is a series of 4 books)
Some of these books might be too easy or hard but I have read all of them (plus other really good books) and I think you might like some of them.

Cricket in Times Square is awesome! I literally read that once a month when I was twelve. And Chronicles of Narnia is really good too, although the last book is really sad.
Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie is another classic read, both bittersweet and insanely funny.

Okay, thanks everbody! I found Septimus Heap at the library, which (because my older brother said it was really good) she let me read. I also started reading warriors and am now up to the fifth book. My sister also loves it. And I checked out a lot of the other book you guys recomended (I'm too lazy to go see which ones) or at least the one's I hadn't read.
@ Elizabeth
I'm going to wait until The House of Hades is out to read Heros of Olympus. I don't want to be dying (like my sister) over yet another book that's not out.
Okay, so I must go suffer through two more hours of school until I will be free again at three! At which point I will finish drawing the bathroom and closet full of books I started yesterday and finish Magyk. Eeeeek I'm gonna be late!

@ Corina:
A series I really like (and Melody seems to be the only other one to have read it!) is the Kingdom Keeper series by Riddley Pearson. The last one isn't out yet (cause I'm helping to write it on the Kingdom Keeper Insider!) but it's due to come out in April next year. The series is all about these kids who become DHIs (Disney Host Interactive or Daylight Holograph Imaging) and defend Disney from the Disney Villains! Sometimes with the help of Disney characters! It's really cool! My favorite character is Willa. But anyway, if you want a really interesting series that'll keep you reeling, this is it!
*semi spoiler* Especially the latest one, Dark Passage. As Melody said, the ending is... shocking. I literally jolted in my seat, and refused to finish the book for three days, despite my being five pages away from finishing.
But the series is good!
Cappie says fame. Yes, Cappie, Kingdom Keepers is famous. But not you or me! Yet. Tell you what Cappie, I will credit you once one of my books are published. Good?

Kingdom Keepers. . . *writes down on the list for the library (where I'm going today)*. Okay! I've seen them, but haven't read them. Probably put on the semi-interesting-looking-books-list that is buried in the back of my mind.
Well, anyway, I'll get the first one today! If they have it! Which I doubt! My library tends to have every other book in the series except the one I want. If I want fourth one, someone's just checked it out. So annoying.
@ Olive and Melody
Okay, I'll check out Chasing Vermeer. Yay, more books.
(September 27, 2013 - 2:14 pm)
There was a girl who used to be on here named Princess P who loved KK and had actually written Wayne. And wasn't there a Kingdom Keepers Rule at one point?
Also, Willa is the best.
(September 28, 2013 - 7:41 pm)
You should listen to Olive concerning Chasing Vermeer. If your mom gets iffy about it, tell her it teaches you a lot about art and problem solving. Also, Wendy Mass. Go research her. She is the solution to your problem. And Kathryn Lasky.

The Westing Game, The Wednesday Files, Walk Two Moons, Absolutely Normal Chaos, Surviving the Applewhites, The 100 Cupboards, Buttermilk Hill
