Here's a chance...
Here's a chance to let loose your characters and give them a chance to be themselves and not in an ordered story line. I think there's been stuff like this before, I can't remember. I'll post as one of mine once this thread gets posted . . . just wanted to set it up.
You can be under multiple identities, like if you want to have multiple characters. Characters are allowed to be rude or anything, if that's how they are.. we're all friends here.

Normally, I use Sonny and Leota for this, but I kind of want to develop Gemma and Lucky, so I'll use those characters in this thread.
So, basically:
Katarina "Lucky" Hutcherson is nicknamed Lucky because she's totally unlucky. She lives with her grandparents in a tiny apartment after fires burnt down her home (with her parents inside it) and her grandparents' home. Right now it is the first time she's not in a cast on her arm or leg in a long time. She doesn't want to be, but she's now a DHI, which means a hologram of her is a tour guide at Disney World and she wakes up in Disney at night to fight villains. She discovers her talent and passion for acting through this. She has chin-length black hair with purple streaks, blue eyes, and is always wearing Converse. From the Kingdom Keepers roleplay
Gemma Donner goes to a boarding school on a spaceship. She was sent there by her parents because she's an expert at picking locks and cracking safes and started utilizing this talent when her dad lost his job. She loves music, especially Green Day, Weezer, Blink 182, etc, and plays the drums. Gemma isn't normally a prankster on her own, but will use her skills to pull off a prank if someone pays her. She has a compulsive need to be able to open every door on the space shuttle because of the freedom it gives her. Above average in some school subjects, below average in others. She has wavy, shoulder length brown hair with a pink streak that is always up in chopsticks (that she can use to play drums or pick locks), green eyes, and she is always wearing Converse.
These two characters are a lot more alike than the characters I usually put in things like these, but there are definitely some differences between them that I'm sure will come out later on.

So we post with the names of our characters and post with their personality too, right?

I've been wanting to write this novel about travelling theatre and all that jazz. I think this will probably be the main character.
Name: Jenny Cox
Age: 14
Appearance: Average height and weight, a pointy nose, fluffy brown hair slightly shorter than shoulder length which changes for different plays, blue eyes. Generally wears second hand dresses or a button down shirt and skinny jeans with Keds.
Personality: Polite, smart, outgoing. Generally is in the chorus of musicals and a romantic character in plays. Has a soprano voice. Can keep a secret. She likes to sing, play the piano, act and read about old musicals, or plays. Smiles a lot. A good dancer.

I envy sopranos. My voice is so alto-y, I'm practically a tenor.
(July 29, 2013 - 11:59 pm)
I can sing from a tenor to a soprano. I'm an alto in chorus, because in a group I prefer to sing with my chest voice. Also, we don't have a tenor section in elementary school. I have a feeling my chorus teacher next year will be confused.

I was a soprano in middle school for the first quarter I took it because I sang my 'audition' song too high. I have a super annoying head voice, so that's why I can't sing soprano, besides the fact that once the notes get above C (the kind that's the second note from the bottom with the tail downwards on the treble staff), I start having trouble.

@Watermelon: You can do that, yeah. Kinda what I what in mind, but I think describing your characters first, at least, is a good idea.. which is why that's what I'm going to do.
Black Elf: Modeled after me, she's biographical character...sort of. She's like a dark, evil *witch* who lives almost alone in the woods. She's definitely terribly evil. There are some violent parts in my book where she disposes of some stragglers a little disturbingly. She's a bit like Bellatrix.. she's wearing zombie makeup, a black shiny dress. She does have a slight soft spot that shows in the book, but other than that.. total darkness.
Moonlight: Her love interest and best friend. He looks like Fenrir Greyback, the bad shave, he has a snake tongue, and he's kinda creepy. As deadly as Black Elf. He's a comfortably dark character for people who like villains.
Eletha: She's technically not in the book yet since my notebook ran out of paper and I haven't gotten another one, but she's going to be a little girl who Black Elf and Moonlight find alone living in a dark tower on their journey, and adopt. See.. I told you Black Elf has a soft side.

If Black Elf is modeled after you, do I want to run into you in a dark alley? Because I've never seen a more evil self-insert.
Azalea Monoceros is withdrawn, quiet, and enjoys being difficult and making fun of people. She knows a lot about various subjects, but doesn't really have anything she's a long-term fan of. One of her favorite places is the library, not just because she likes reading (though that too) but because she enjoys thinking and writing things about her personal values. She's a princess who isn't rebellious – in fact, she enjoys her status, she just knows what a jerk her father is. Generally snobby but polite. Refers to herself as Zally while outside of royal situations. Lies about, well, everything. Doesn't like to admit that she's really quite sheltered. On the flip side, though, she's intelligent and legitimately tries to be a good person.
Fornax is easy-going and social. He often flirts and enjoys company. He's quite a coward, and if he's comfortable about you he can be extremely whiny. If you called hand told him your house was on fire, he'd check his hair in the mirror, grab a comb to fix it on the way over, and run out the door to save you. Overall, he respects the opinions of others and actually listens to what you have to say. He's a shape-shifter whose original form is a type of magical wild dog, not a human. He is used to human form after over ten years of shifting back and forth, though. It takes him two to three minutes to transform, which is considered average. He can't actually shapeshift into any animal – he can start learning to, but it would take about the time it would take you to learn a new language. Right now he can do a human and dog, like all Gremlinhounds, and he's learning to do a fox (right now basically all he can do as a fox is wiggle around pathetically and give a few pathetic yaps.
I might bring in someone else later, but that's it for now.

...do all threads die after I comment on them or something?

Probably not.

Azalea reminds me of a girl in this CBBC show I like to watch, called Leonardo.. starring Leonardo da Vinci, Lorenzo Medici, Niccolo Machiavelli.. and then some.. portrayed as teenagers who go on adventures, with the personalities and statuses of the real people. Anyway, her name is Angelica, and she was chosen to marry Lorenzo, but they hate each other. She's only somtimes a nice noble girl, but I hate Angelica .

Ok here is my character I might use in a new story. I made it up last night (along with another character) so I am not sure how good this character will be because I was tired.
Name: Sophie Parkinson
Age: 10
Likes: Photo taking, research, school, Christmas, hiking, walking, running, animals, swimming, butterfly catching, babysitting, spring, history, English including writing and reading, and science.
Favorite Colors: Red, light blue, light pink.
Dislikes: Video games, watching T.V, talking to big crowds, Halloween, doing nothing, sleeping, being late, spiders, math, grammar, drawing, sugar in any foods, summer, winter, bacon, loud crazy music, dancing, and singing.
Least favorite colors: Black, grey, dark purple, and all dark colors minus brown.
Looks: Brown eyes, light skin, long wavy brown hair that she keeps down, sort of long nose, tall for her age, thin, strong, almost always smiling and happy, wears a watch, and wears a golden colored heart locket with a picture of her family inside it.
So there is my character. Is it good? Just to tell you all, most of the things she dislikes I like. Well I think I will use her for my new story I am thinking of writing.

Here's a character that I spent hours working on a name for, but I still have not found the right one yet. Anyway, I will just use her working name:
Name: Lana
Species: Dwarf
Age: 15
Physical appearance: Tall (no-one knows why), reddish-brown hair in a long braid down to her waist, gray eyes
Personality: Extremely moody and very intimidating. She scares most people, but has a definite soft side. Fiercly protective. Will probably punch you if you ask about her past.
History: People always think she has some elven blood, as tall and dwarf usually don't go together. Lives in a medieval, female dominated society (think LotR in reverse). She claims that she never knew her parents because they died when she was a baby, but anyone close to her knows that she is lying. Lana has been traveling since she was 10 and had to grow up fast. She is the sworn enemy of anything remotely magic. She fights with a wooden staff.
Name: Ila
Species: High Elf
Age: 10
Physical appearance: light brown hair down to shoulders, would-be graceful face, pointed ears, pale blue eyes, overlarge brown shirt, quite short compared to Lana
Personality: Pretty much the opposite of Lana. She is hyper, uncontrollably and irritatingly happy all the time. Optomistic. Can tell when people are lying.
History: Lived on the streets of Riondral (an elven kingdom) until she started traveling with Lana. She uses a bow and arrow only when absolutely necessary and always wears a butterfly clip in her hair, given to her by Lana. Her parents died a year earlier from unknown causes.
