I'm writing a...

I'm writing a short story called Pilot and I'm looking for a place to publish it, so I decided to start here. My book is about an injured bird named Pilot who bring a grl named Sarah and a boy named Jeff, who has Autism together in a special friendship. If you have the time I was wondering if you could give me some advice or tips?

The only student work Cricket publishes is in our Cricket League contests. There is a new contest in each Cricket magazine and at www.cricketmagkids.com. Entries must follow the specific theme and rules for each contest.

We suggest you ask a teacher or librarian about other places you might send your story.

Here's a book I can recommend for help. ISBN 1582700435

Funnily enough, that book, which is to help guide kids who want to publish their writing, recommends Cricket as a place to go, plus puts in an address to send in work for consideration. Huh.

Thanks, JDD.  I believe that book only mentions our Cricket League contests in regards to Cricket. But it lists other places, too.

Try Stone Soup magazine. As far as I know, that's the only publication for young writers to submit until they're teens.

There's a local magazine in my area that publishes kids stuff.  They would be happy to publish a story of yours.  If it's longer than two full pages, you might want to serialize it.  If the Admins approve the website, I'm putting a link below.
