So, the second

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

Percy Jackson Sea of Monsters Graphic novel, and other comics I must read
So, the second...

So, the second Percy Jackson graphic novel, based on The Sea of Monsters, is out, and now I need to get it sooner or later. Coming soon is the Titan's Curse adaptation, which comes out October 8, same day as The House of Hades. Also, I need to read the Oz graphic novel adaptations, which I've read parts of. They look, from what I've seen of them, beautifully drawn and right with the tone of the book. So far, there is Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Marvelous Land of Oz, Ozma of Oz, Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz, and Road to Oz is in progress.

I also previously read The Lightning Thief graphic novel, and the Red Pyramid comic.

I'm glad for comic books adaptations, cause they are, in some ways, better than movies. They make use of your imagination while showing you wonderfully crafted visuals on paper. Their sequential art is a fine line between film and the written word. Plus, they tend to stick closer to the stories than movies.

So, anyone else excited to see some cool comic book adaptations? Oz is gonna ROCK those pages!

At least you're excited... I'm still waiting for VizKids to pull it together and make a Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword comic book. They have just every other Zelda storyline EXCEPT the one I happen to have. Right.

I read The Red Pyramid aloud at lunch one day. It was entertaining. Because I spent the whole time either snarling at the author for abuse of Egyptian mythology or making fun of Sadie Kain (or any other person in the book, actually).

I also did that with the first Maximum Ride.

First, I want everyone to know that I am exploding with joy and disappointment... something in between. Now, book comic adaptions. I'll save the best for last.

--Oliver Twist graphic novel from Papercutz. It was amazing. I loved the characters again and again. A little on the gory side, though.

--City of Ember graphic novel. Good, good. I like it quite a bit. Her outfit was amazingly simple but complicated.

--Artemis Fowl graphic novel. I haven't read it yet, but it's on hold and I'll read it soon!

BEST FOR LAST!!!!!

JOY AND DESPAIR!!!! THERE IS, MAY BE, HOPEFULLY WILL BE, A CANDLEMAN COMIC ADAPTION!!!! (You should of seen me when I found out. I literaly exploded.) I don't know if it's actually going to exist, but I read the few pannels found on the interent and I'm HOOKED!!! IT WAS AMAZING!!! So, now, to comment on my despair. I have no idea what has happened, but Glenn Dakin hasn't made any posts about the Candleman, and it makes me sad. I hope everything's okay.

And that's my Candleman moment of the day, which I don't have very often. So they're awesome. And my comments about graphic novel adaptions.  Yep.

The Oz ones are pretty good.  I've seen them before.  I really liked the first PJ graphic novel.  It was pretty accurate.  I also liked Smile by Raina Telgemeier the last time I read it.  There are also some pretty good graphic novel sequels to Meg Cabot's Avalon High.  Other than that, I haven't read much.  I'm not really a graphic novel person.
