I'm starting a new one because the last ones are dead. :)

We are the watchers. The listeners. The wanderers. We walk alone in the dark places of the world, and we remember what is and what has been.

The Ruins of Gorlan by John Flanagan. Failure, I know.
(November 11, 2012 - 6:46 pm)
Umm.. No. It's a little more famous.

I've heard this quote before. Nyarsh. It's either Eragon or Harry Potter.

No, but you're getting closer.

Lord of the Rings?
(November 12, 2012 - 8:21 pm)
It's in Inheritance. On page 381, to be exact.
(November 12, 2012 - 9:07 pm)
Considering I didn't read Inheritance...

I am kind of mad at myself for not getting this. I have read Inheritance at least twice if not more times.

I've had trouble finding anything memorable, so you will get an unmemorable quote. I am going to cut out a large portion in the middle to avoid giving away the character's name.
"These handmade candles are both practical and romantic. And the colored stripes tell the time, which is very handy if your electric clock stopped. Each stripe burns exactly one half hour, more or less. Twelve stripes, six hours."
Oh, I think I know this one! But I'll let someone else guess.

I've practically memorized this book, but I've already had a turn. Good choice.
The captcha just said rabe. RAB. No, it isn't Harry Potter, captcha.

This is probably not it, but I'm guessing anyway. Romeo and Juliet?
(November 17, 2012 - 12:03 pm)
It's a book that's weird enough for Red to have thought it worthwhile memorizing... and it's not Daniel Pinkwater. Because he's not that eloquent.

You think that I only like weird books? But it is a mystery, and it is not Romeo and Juliet.
