Chatterbox: Blab About Books

The Selection by Kiera Cass
I just finished...

I just finished this book, and I have to say, I really like it.

If you haven't read it, you should. Here's the lowdown:

Illéa is a post-apocalyptic young country ruled by a monarchy, possessed of a social order.

America Singer is a Five (caste- Ones are the royalty, Twos and Threes are upper-class, Fours are middle class, Fives, Sixes, and Sevens are working class, Eights are... well, Eights are destitute.) who gets chosen to take part in the Selection, which is basically a way for the prince to speed-date a girl from each province and marry one of them. She should be happy. Who wouldn't want to rise out of poverty to become a princess? One problem, and his name is Aspen Leger.

I really love how she ties in details about the previous world with the world they live in (What is Halloween supposed to be?).

Spambert Spamstein says rnai. Read Never Apple Image. I have no idea what that is supposed to mean.
