Chatterbox: Blab About Books
The Guardians of Ga' Hoole series
Wow! ...
Wow!
Has anyone heard of the Guardians of Ga' Hoole series? It's about a bunch of owls and magic and evil crow-owls, and stuff like that... except only awesome-er! Sorry, but I'm really psyched about These books because Ijust started reading them again.....
So, anyway, I had been reading them, and they were like, totally awesome!!!! But, then for some reason I stopped.... and this was like a year ago. But anyway, Ijust started up again on the last legend, and just again realized the fully AWESOMENESS of it again, so I just had to come and blab..................
So,

One of my teachers had a thing for that author, so I read the first one and didn't really like it. I thought it was too violent at the time. Now that I have read the Hunger Games, I might like it a little better and think it is less violent. Even though it is absolutely nothing like the Hunger Games. I made the comparison because of the violence. I'm so tired, I need to top talking before I start to sound like an idiot.

It's fine. I probably sound like an idiot to everyone else a lot, so I've got nothin' on you.

I get what you mean.:)

By the way, that wasn't supposed to sound like I actually thought that you sounded like an idiot. You don't. It is a little on the violent side, though, I suppose.

Loved that series from the moment I started. I tried to get some of my friends to read it, but the violence and moonblinking creeped some of them out.

Violence.........hmmm, there seems to be a problem there..........
Kangaroo h- you know, I'm sick of that ending..... so, I guess, bye!

I really like the Guardians series. I think that the movie was pretty good, although they messed up some things, like Metal Beak being a Legend and Nyra working at Saint Aegolius. Does how the owls say "The Gaaaaaaaaaaadians" bug anyone else?

I've never seen the movie, so I wouldn't know about it; but why would they change stuff like that when it was a perfectly good story to begin with? Anyway, I want to see 'cause I wanna know how good it is, and see if I like it.

To make a comparison to the Hunger Games (again!) you will not ruin your picture of the Guardians forever if you see the movie. However, you can be really nitpicky and obsess over every single thing that didn't happen like the book, or you can forget about it and enjoy the movie as an interpretation of the book. (Great animation, by the way.)

Yes, it bugged me a lot. Also that they implied Soren had a crush on Owlissa (it that how you spell her name? probably not. . . oh well, it's too hot to think.) And tht they made Digger the comic releif. But other than that, it was great.

No kidding, Ash. I loved the series and still do and everything, but the movie? Loathed it.

I hated the movie. Some things that went wrong:
-Nyra's scar looked more like red face paint or and open wound.
-Metal beak was not kludd.
-Eglantine was captured too soon.
-That is not how to moonblink.
-It skipped ideas too quickly.
-I'm still not sure what they meant by making all the pure ones chant "metal beak metal beak" and stomp their feet.
-What happened to Ms. P?
-St. Aggies and the pure ones are in league with each other.
