Unwind
by Neil ShustermanThis is a very good book and I highly recommend it!
It is about a time in the future where the legal guardians of children between the ages of 13 and 18 can choose to have that child unwound, which is like being taken apart. All of the body parts go to different people, so the person is still alive, just in many different forms. Conner is a boy who never followed the rules, always got in trouble. Risa is a ward of the state that the state can no longer afford to keep. And Lev is a tithe, a child concieved and raised to be unwound. Separately, they are hopeless. But together, they just might find a way to safety and not be unwound.
Again, this is a really really good book that was recommended to me by an old teacher of mine. I loved it!
