Ella Enchanted

Ella Enchanted is a version of the fairy tale Cinderella. In it however, the main character, Ella, is under a curse. Whatever order someone gives her she has to obey. The curse makes her a slave to her stepmother and stepsisters and stops her from marrying her true love, Prince Charmont.

Thoughout the book Ella tries to break the curse.

 

SPOILER ALERT: At the end of the book she finally breaks it when she saves Charmont, and when the curse is broken she marries him.

This is an exellent book! I'd give it five chirps - if I knew how!

I absolutely loved it and it inspired me to write my own twist on the Cinderella tale.

I love this book.Partely because Gail Carson levine wrote the book, and another one of her books inspired me to write my own stories.But the book itself is awsome!

I recently read Just Ella, by Margaret Peterson Haddix.  WORST CINDERELLA BOOK EVER.  My literal Goodreads review: Just Ella vs. Ella Enchanted: Ella Enchanted kicks butt.

I agree! Personally, I love Gail Carson Levine. Ella Enchanted is SO GOOD! I mean, how do you make such a beautiful twist on Cinderella?
