Alex and the Ironic Gentlemen
by Adrienne Kress
Alex and the Ironic Gentlemen is a hilarious, adventrous, and witty story. People who like mystery and adventure will love it. I sure did.
As Alex enters 6th grade, she finds out that her teacher is the decendant of a pirate. She sets out on a mission to help him find the lost treasure that rightly belongs to him. But she is not the only one looking for it...
She faces a mysterious train that never stops, a ginormous octopus, and a ship of pirates. There are very odd characters, some of them menacing, but most of them more, how should I put it? Weird? Absurd? Odd? Than scary. Definitely.

BEAT? That you? It's Alice. Hi! -waves-
Anyway, I read that. Or part of it. It was really good, what I did read, but then someone took it back to the library. :x
