Juniper is a book about a medievel princess, who is a bit rude and bossy. She then learns that she has a godmother, Euny, who wishes to teach her how to become a doran. Juniper refuses at first, but then decides to go. Life with Euny is very different than life at the castle. She gets frustrated with Euny at first, but learns to respect her. When Juniper returns, she learns that the castle is trying to be overthrown by possibly dark magic. Juniper must save her castle with what she has learned from Euny.
