I read this book and I thought it was really good, and some of the parts where Esperanza is learning that this is not the same as her father's ranch.

This was a really good book, kinda sad in the beginning though.
If you like that book there in another book she wrote, Riding Freedom, it isn't a sequal but an adventures horse story

I loved this book! I didn't care much for Riding Freedom, though. But Pam Muñoz Ryan did write 2 other books that I thought were great: Paint the Wind (another horse story), and Becoming Naomi Leon.

I had to read this book in 6th grade. It was really good. I also have Paint the Wind, which is excellent.
