The Princess and the Goblin
by George MacdonaldIf you like books with goblins, princesses and heroes, and magic, then I highly recommend the book The Princess and the Goblin by George Macdonald. It's an old classic, and I think that everyone, especially girls, will enjoy it! The genre of this book is fantasy.
The book is about a princess named Irene who lives in a grand castle. She discovers a bewildering staircase with doors and more stairways. What does she find at the top? Later, the miner's son, Curdie, learns about a horrible plot from the goblins that live below the mountains. Will they be able to stop the goblins' plans in time using Irene's magic ring? Join Irene and Curdie as they embark on risky and adventurous dangers.
I recommend this book because it was very descriptive and exciting. It also had several themes, like courage, kindness, and belief. The book showed great examples of these themes!
The Princess and the Goblin is one of the best books I have read!

Don't judge books by their covers or how they sound. You haven't even read it yet. So the story line might be like other books, but I haven't even told you the important parts yet. So read the book and find out for youself.

I thought the book was awesome. I, too, would recommend it for any girl to read.
