Hurt Go Happy
by Ginny RorbyHurt Go Happy is an amazing book about a girl who is deaf and a chimp. Joey is deaf, and her mom won't let her learn sign language because she is afraid that people would know that Joey was handicapped. When Joey meets a chimp named Sukari being raised by Charlie Mansell, an old man, Joey immediatly falls in love with the chimp. But there is only one problem: the chimp's only way of communtication is with sign language. Secretly Joey learns sign language with Charlie and Sukari without her mother knowing. When Charlie suddenly dies, Joey was left with Sukari to care for. Her mother dosen't want a chimp, so they have to send Sukari off. This is a happy, cry book. READ IT!

Guess what? I get to meet the author, Ginny Rorby, this Sunday! SUPER YAY!!! I'm going to get my book signed. And Jodi's right - it's an amazing book, one you don't want to miss. If you haven't read it, I shall cast a magic spell on you to make you rise from in front of your computer screen and float out the window to the nearest library to check it out. Hocus pocus!

I thought it was good, but not especially well-written. The story was interesting, though.
