After the death of his father 17 year-old David goes to his uncle seeking his inheritence. His uncle betrays him, and has him kidnapped (hence the name) and sent away on a ship.

In the course of the story he befriends Scotish rebel Alan, is falsely accused of murder, and nearly dies on multiple occasions. This book is full of action and adventure. It is definetly one of my favorites.
