This is about a Japenese American family. Don't read on if you can't bear really sad stories. Their mom has to find a job, and the whole family suffers. In the end, it's all sad, and someone dies. I would recomend this book to 9+. It's a great book, but really emotional.

This was a very good book except ( like Sophia J. said) that it's very sad. The family in the story faces a lot of hardships and someone dies a very sad death but it's a great book. I really recommend it.
